Biashara Africa has reviewed its 2023 E-Commerce 4 Small Businesses Program to discuss the opportunities presented by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Sustainable E-Commerce (Green Digital). Launched in 2021, the program has benefited over 10,000 women and youth-owned small businesses in Kenya and aims to support small businesses in leveraging the power of e-commerce to grow and thrive in the digital economy.
The program has received positive reviews from participants who have benefited from the training and support provided. Many small businesses have been able to increase their online presence, reach new customers, grow their revenue, and create job opportunities.
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) presents a huge opportunity for small businesses in Africa to expand their markets and reach new customers. The AfCFTA aims to create a single market for goods and services in Africa, which will enable small businesses to access a larger market and compete with larger businesses.
Sustainable E-Commerce (Green Digital) is another opportunity that small businesses can take advantage of to promote growth, competitiveness and sustainability. Sustainable E-Commerce involves using digital tools and platforms to promote environmentally friendly practices in the supply chain. This includes reducing waste, using renewable energy and promoting sustainable practices.
By embracing Sustainable E-Commerce practices, small businesses can differentiate themselves from their competitors, attract environmentally conscious customers and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Biashara Africa is committed to driving the growth of small businesses in Africa through our E-Commerce 4 Small Businesses Program, and we are excited about the opportunities presented by the AfCFTA and Sustainable E-Commerce. We look forward to working with women and youth-owned small businesses to unlock their full potential in the digital economy and build sustainable businesses.
